tips for planning your event.....

Hi guys.. how was your week?? soo i got a few complains last week, some people feel they should see pictures of the bloggers, check "about us" column.... Some also complained about the process, to leave a comment. Well, now all you have to do is write your name, ignore the url column, if you have non, write your comment and publish it...thanks.

Today, i would be sharing, a few tips about planing an event, be it corporate or social. In any event planning, the first most important thing is to :
1. Determine the purpose of the event- you should ask youself " what do i want to achieve at the end of the day". your answer will give you direction, on achieving your objective(s).

2. Identify important elements- by this, i mean, decide who you will outsource the catering to, transportation/parking space, decoration and arrangement, music/entertainment, publicity/invitations etc.
3. Pick a theme- this step isnt applicable when it comes to wedding, birthdays, but for events that do not have obvious descriotions, you would need to decide on a theme. The theme just describes the concept and also content of your event.
4. Establish your budget- A lot of host/hostess feel that, establishing a budget is the first thing to do, but in my opinion, its the fourth, but also the most crucial. Before you establish your final budget, you will to get prices of all you need from the outsourced companys. This budget serves as an estimate money guidelines, because the final amount needed might be more or even less than your budget, that is why it is important to have miscellenous (vex money lol).
5. Make a concrete plan- in this stage, final decisions are made. You would decide on the date, time, venue and activities and work closely with your budget.
6. Always have a plan B- hmmm...It is very essential, infact highlyessential to have backup plan. I mean, have a substitute arrangement for every plan or activity in the plan A. You should also confirm all your arrangements with your team or outsourced company i.e catereer, florist etc.
7. Send Invitations/ beging publicity- Be it social or corporate, you need guests. so this stage requires you to publicise and also send invites regarding the events. ensure you give your guests enough time before the events, so as to ensure they include it in their schedule and arrive at your event early.

Enjoy....kems xoxo
